The Black Hills Astronomical Society (BHAS) usually meets on the third Monday of every
month at 7:00 p.m. (September through May)
at the Journey Museum, 222 New York Street
No meetings are held during the months of June, July, and August, but we then have

BHAS 2004 Award for Efficient Lighting Design - Awarded to the Journey Museum and it’s architects, TSP Three Inc. Acting as a consultant to TSP, Wyss Associates, Inc. was responsible for the complete site design at the Journey, including the design of the outdoor lighting. Stardust Mission - NASA's amazing mission to capture comet dust and return it to Earth! Stardust Spacecraft encounters the comet on Jan. 2, 2004. Of special interest, is that Badlands Observatory in Quinn, SD provided very useful telescopic observational data to NASA on the comet's position.
Powers of 10 - View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the Earth. Then move through space towards the Earth in successive orders of magnitude and enter then enter the microscopic world!
