Suzanne Kieper Fisher, Photographer and retired Social Worker; first moved to the Rapid City area from Omaha, Nebraska in 1985. I left in 1997 to live in Bismarck, North Dakota and Sioux Falls, South Dakota before returning to my lovely Black Hills home in 2002, to be nearer to my family. I've always loved music and danced as a child and teenager; ballet, Toe, Tap and so on for teen dances and formals; but never had a serious dance partner with whom I could learn to dance and move on the floor. Luckily, over the past year or so while taking lessons with Henry and Linda, during the Tuesday night lessons, I have met and danced with several new friends and have been able to enjoy the experiences of partner dancing. I joined the Dakota Territory Dance Club in late '2004 after starting to dance in October '2004. I enjoy the East Coast Swing & Jitter Bug; with my favorite music coming from the 50's and 60's and I'm currently learning to dance Country, which is a new venue for me. Learning the Waltz has been especially dear to me; as I vividly remember watching my Grandparents as they danced the waltz. To me dance is a feel good thing, with the music, the rhythm, feelings and friends. The exercise is another bonus too! So far my most memorable dance moments came from the April '2005 Black Hills Dance Festival. It was very exciting taking lessons from and meeting the local and national dance instructors and the numerous dancers and new friends.
